if you are considering to visit Indonesia maybe the first thing you came to your mind was Bali come out to be honest I'm Indonesian I never gone to Bali. but here I suggest you to try to go to Yogyakarta is located on Java Island it's about 1 hour flight from Bali.
because the characteristics of Bali and Yogyakarta it's quite similar they offering you the cultural vacation local wisdom and of course cheap things
if you are planned to Arrive at Jakarta hear my suggestion what you have to do:
first you have to take train from Gambier station to it takes about 9 hours to touch down and of course the ticket is really cheap for tourism it's about maybe $20 USD or something it's supposed to be affordable for you isn't it?
Take the train maybe the best option for you because many to rest are using train to the Yogyakarta I've seen many tourists using Train to how to get there. I don't know what the main reason day choose train to get to Yogyakarta but what I can see is because train is really cheap instead of using airplane and using train you can see the beauty of landscape of Indonesia
the other one if you are have more budget and and flexibility of your itinerary I suggest you using car you can get buses or rent a private car from the airport immediately. but it cost you maybe about 200 to $300 this is just my guess and if you don't make any stop you can make it there about 10 to 11 hours. but the thing is if you are using car you have to stop at any places that you want especially if you are renting a private car to go there. because at least on the way you are going to Georgia Carter from the airport you cross two big cities named samarang and solo
