Reading Passage:

The history of space exploration dates back to the mid-20th century when the United States and the Soviet Union competed to be the first to launch satellites, animals, and humans into space. The first human to walk on the moon was Neil Armstrong in 1969. Since then, numerous space probes have been launched to explore our solar system, and the International Space Station (ISS) has been continuously occupied since 2000.

Despite these achievements, space exploration is not without its controversies. Some people argue that the vast sums of money spent on space exploration could be better used to solve problems on Earth, such as poverty, disease, and climate change. Others believe that space exploration is essential to the survival of the human race, as it could help us find new sources of energy, minerals, and even habitable planets.

Looking to the future, space exploration is likely to become increasingly important. Private companies, such as SpaceX and Blue Origin, are investing heavily in space tourism and commercial spaceflight. NASA and other space agencies are also planning missions to Mars and beyond. Task 2: Indenpendent Writing

The question:

Some people believe that college education should be free, while others argue that students should pay for their education. What is your opinion?

My Answer:

In my perspective, I would say that colleges or universities must be not free, they must collect fee from their students. Here are my reasons.

First of all, the fact that to operate college or university it cost large amount of money. It has to be a place, classrooms, the professors, the administrators, and many other facilities that essentials to support educational process going well. To provide those kind of things, obviously colleges need money, can't be not. Then where the money come from? It is possible government support all the cost, some countries do. But in general, impossible all government can provide all the cost completely. So colleges and universities have to charge fee to their students, in order to, once again providing good educational process to their students.

Secondly, in students point of view. It is good to pay fee for their education, it is like an investment. The people who want to preaching brighter future, they must sacrificing something, whether their time, energy, and of course their money. By seeing the education cost as an investment, the students pushed to think the way how to get their money back, so they must put more effort seriously to their study. This scheme could make the output of college in high quality person who ready to work or doing their own business.

In conclusion, I believe education for college students must have a price in order to preaching brighter future for students. However, I don't mean scholarships or sponsorship must be cancel at all. Because in reality, not everyone can afford the price of university, scholarship must help some students that can't afford the fees but have big potential as a person.

ChatGPT Asessment:

Your answer is generally well-structured and addresses the question effectively. However, there are some grammar and vocabulary mistakes that need to be corrected. I would rate your answer a 20 out of 30. Below, I have provided a revised version of your response with corrections and suggestions for improvement:

In my perspective, I would say that colleges or universities should not be free, and they must collect fees from their students. Here are my reasons.

First of all, operating a college or university costs a significant amount of money. To support the educational process, institutions must have physical spaces, classrooms, professors, administrators, and many other essential facilities. Providing these resources requires funding, which often cannot be fully covered by government support. Therefore, colleges and universities must charge fees to their students in order to provide a quality education.

Secondly, from the students' point of view, paying for their education can be seen as an investment. To achieve a brighter future, individuals must sacrifice their time, energy, and money. Viewing education costs as an investment encourages students to put more effort into their studies, as they will be motivated to recoup their investment. This mindset could result in graduates who are high-quality professionals, ready to work or start their own businesses.

In conclusion, I believe that college education should have a price to ensure a brighter future for students. However, this does not mean scholarships or sponsorships should be canceled altogether. In reality, not everyone can afford the cost of higher education, so scholarships should be available to help students with great potential who cannot afford the fees.
